Supporting Caregivers of At-Risk Youth: A New Day's Monthly Group

ree

A New Day is excited to introduce a dedicated parenting education and skills group specifically designed for parents and caregivers of youth who have been commercially sexually exploited, or who may be at risk of such exploitation. This group is open to all community members—no referral is necessary.

Our goal is to equip caregivers with the knowledge and tools needed to understand the psychological implications of surviving sexual exploitation, to support the reintegration of the exploited youth into family life, and to provide holistic support for both the individual and the family. This group is a safe, supportive space for sharing, learning, and growing together.

What to Expect:

Meeting once a month, this group offers a forum for growth, healing, and hope, where caregivers and parents can connect, discuss, and support each other.

This group is more than just information—it's about building a community of support and resilience, empowering caregivers to feel confident and supported in their roles. Attendees will be encouraged to limit the sharing of personal stories to maintain confidentiality and minimize the risk of re-traumatization or vicarious trauma.

Join Us:

Together, we can create a network of care that not only supports the youth we love but also cares for the well-being of the caregivers who stand by them every day. For more information, please contact Wendy Gee at wgee.anewday@gmail.com.

Let’s make a difference, together.
